Verena Naa Kwarnor Quartey
Background: Prior to joining CSPS, my academic background was in Family and Consumer Sciences, with professional experience spanning education, social research, and advocacy. From teaching and tutoring to working with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, I developed a strong interest in understanding how policy shapes development. I enrolled at CSPS to deepen my knowledge of social policy and strengthen my ability to contribute meaningfully to community-centered interventions.
Life @ CSPS: I vividly remember receiving my admission letter by the grace of God and realizing that, out of the many who applied, only five were accepted. The small class size created a unique and close-knit learning environment, with high expectations during lectures. Some sessions, like Social Policy, kept me on the edge of my seat; they were thought-provoking, challenging, and inspiring. Each discussion left a lasting impression and strengthened my analytical thinking. The journey had its share of challenges and rewards, but it was truly unforgettable, and I am grateful for the growth, resilience, and knowledge I gained along the way.
Achieving Goals: CSPS has given me the theoretical grounding and practical insights to connect the dots between policy, programme design, and social impact. I now approach my responsibilities with greater clarity, and I am more equipped to influence development outcomes through evidence-based practice. This programme has enhanced both my confidence and career prospects.
Networks: The programme introduced me to a strong community of professionals, mentors, and peers who continue to be sources of support and collaboration. These connections have expanded my access to learning opportunities, enhanced my perspective, and opened doors for future partnerships in social policy and development work.
