Meet Our 2024/2025 MA Cohort

This academic year, CSPS’s MA in Social Policy Studies has brought together 8 unique individuals from various professional backgrounds, passionate about driving meaningful change in society. Each student expresses in their own words the unique reason behind their decision to pursue the MA in Social Policy Studies at the Centre for Social Policy Studies.

Rebecca Amponsah, Social Development Officer, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection. “Social Policy helps me to understand the systems set up for human well-being, and if these systems really respond to the needs of people.”

Frederick Akwetey Lokko, Senior Programme Officer, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection Human Trafficking Secretariat: “Given the critical role of Civil Servants in policy development and implementation, I am eager to enhance my knowledge of the multifaceted nature of social policies. This program will equip me to make informed contributions to policy decisions and social initiatives.”

Abdul Karim Ibrahim, Regional Coordinator, Africa  "As a journalist, critical social policy analysis is central to my work. CSPS thus comes highly recommended due to its multidisciplinary research background and faculty strength".

Benita Osaah Adutwum “I chose the MA program in Social Policy Studies because it aligns with my belief in the relevance of evidence-based policy and to contribute to data collection, analysis and policy recommendations in my research role at a non-profit policy organisation.“

Ayeley Foli, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer at Olinga Foundation for Human Development. "I chose this MA program at CSPS to deepen my understanding of social policy frameworks and enhance my ability to design and implement evidence-based interventions. With extensive experience in research and program evaluation, I aim to leverage this opportunity to contribute to policy discourse and solutions addressing socio-economic challenges, particularly in education and social development."

Esenam Dzah, Teacher, Ghana Education Service “I choose social policy studies to enable me to have a comprehensive understanding of social policy and social services delivery systems in Ghana and across the globe. With the knowledge, skills and experiences I will acquire, I aim to create a positive impact on society.”

Williams Agbodo, General Manager, Premier Beach Resort “As a student of Politics and for that matter Democracy, I desire to acquire the requisite knowledge in issues of Social Policies, the needed ingredients that make such policies effective. This will enable me to analyse social interventions implemented by government and non-governmental entities from the right perspective.”

Once equipped with a Master’s in Social Policy Studies, our students will transform their knowledge into action, reshaping the future of social policy by playing crucial roles in designing, implementing, and evaluating policies that promote equity and human flourishing.
