Webinar Series on “Social Policy in Post-Covid Africa”

The Centre for Social Policy Studies at the University of Ghana hosted a 3-part webinar series on “Social Policy in Post-Covid Africa”, in collaboration with speakers from the Gender Equitable and Transformative Social Policy for a Post-Covid-19 Africa (GETSPA) and with funding from the Ghana Employment and Social Policy Programme (GESP) of the government of Ghana.

The webinars were planned as an important conversation on re-thinking social policy for our changing times, facilitated by leading experts on social policy on the continent.  The Covid-19 pandemic has demonstrated to the global community the need for social policies that are more broadly conceived. There is also a clear imperative, both the current period of crisis and in the long-term, for development researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to envision, advocate for, and set up social policy infrastructures that are more comprehensive and robust.
