Socializing employees into the organization matters for both individual and organizational performance. To explore how supervisors socialize newly recruited civil servants, this research utilises a mixed-method approach combining 80 individual interviews and two original, large-N surveys including a vignette experiment with civil servants from Ghana’s and Nigeria’s civil services.

In celebration of the Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa (DSRA), CSPS participated in an exhibition of scholarly works organised by the College of Humanities. During the event on 20 June 2024, CSPS displayed publications showing CSPS' contributions to social policy in its 25+ years and also distributed branded notebooks and brochures to faculty and students who visited the stand. The Provost of the College of Humanities, Prof. Daniel Ofori, also stopped by.

The government of Ghana introduced the school feeding programme in the public basic schools in 2005 as a social intervention programme aimed at improving learning outcomes. Among other things, the programme seeks to enhance food security, reduce hunger in schools and subsequently improve school enrolment rates. Studies assessing the returns of the programme show different outcomes of interest. One of the interesting impacts of the intervention is on child marriage – a key sociocultural problem that affects education attainment in the country.
